Hero the movie 2007
Adapted from the official website: Hero (2007)
Asian movie star and idol, Takuya Kimura, returns to his highly acclaimed role as a high school dropout turned gifted pubic prosecutor in a major motion picture adaptation of "HERO", the TV series that broke the ratings charts!
The story follows the career of a young public prosecutor, Kohei Kuryu, who shirks suit and tie for a pair of jeans but is never casual about his pursuit for the truth.
Kuryu's youthful passion and dedication to his trade makes him an interesting contrast to his colleagues who have become only too accustomed to the stuffy and hierarchical realm of public prosecutors in Japan. Once past the initial dismay of Kuryu's unconventional ways, his colleagues gradually find themselves infected by his dedication and sense of mission. The movie picks up where the TV special left off but cranks up the intensity as only a feature film can with Kuryu returning from brief stints in the hinterland to help his colleagues at the "Josai" branch of the Tokyo Public Prosecutor's office face the stiffest challenge of their careers.
First airing in 2001, "HERO" became the most watched mini-series in Japanese television averaging viewer ratings of 34.3 percent. After a 5 year hiatus, Fuji Television Network brought "HERO" back last year with a triumphant two-hour special that once again captured a 30-plus percent television audience share and paved the way for a much-anticipated big screen transition.
