fairprice bishan ran out of chocolate pocky. and i think i have just finished the last box in my stash. it's no good, i need to stock up already. and i DO NOT EAT strawberry pocky at all. meiji's plain crackers were on sale though, claiming the lowest price. indeed ne, if comparing to carrefour's prices.

ok, the layout in suntec convention hall felt like pc show but still, to see anime grand stands everywhere and the merchandise felt great already. had gundam overdose by staring at the models, debating to buy and assemble or not. in the end did not cos no place to display them if really were to buy them. but the trans-am version of 00 did look great......

and because didnt go in the morning, so saved the agony of queuing like mad based on other visitors' comments on the internet. ^^V

plenty of cosplay peeps ran amok during the fair, only 1-2 were truly outstanding, the rest were ok, don't think want to criticize them after all the efforts that went into their gear.

the highlight had to be may'n's performance. it's her first time here in singapore and had anticipated her performance for quite some time. during the short performance, despite only sang 6-7 songs, it was enough to mesmerize me with her strong vocals and intense performance. i knew all songs except the first one *hurhur* and one aspect that disappointed me was that she didnt sing ライオン, but since this track is supposed to be a duet with nakajima megumi, she couldnt really perform it all by herself i guess. even though technically it can be done solo =P

only at 19, she was professional and was totally engrossed in her singing and in her every single move. after misia's concert that blew me away and with may'n's dynamic performance tonight, i supposed this kind of standard is expected of japanese artistes........

of cos the fact that she is cute adds brownie points to her powerful voice.....

may'n blogged everyday during her singapore trip and a kind soul had translated over here.....so going to be influenced by her ⊂(　＾ω＾)⊃ and ＼(^o^)／.....then again, i'm way past the age to go making cutesy symbols like these.....

fantastic beyond words and the not so fantastic

d.gray-man 74.

in forums worldwide and many other places, where anime lovers forming a greater alliance of countries and cities than any other unities, viewers are all screaming the same thing. in fact, i could almost hear the universal cheer when that white hand stuck out. this kind of ending is not just cool, the word fantastic doesn't even do the scene justice. it is just the top. amongst so many THE scenes that rank top in many anime lovers' minds, this one just took its place as a new TOP in our minds. including ah ming ge, who, as a fellow d-gray.man fan, told me to watch 74 when the raw came out. he told me something along the line of "it's good enough to watch it without the subs", something like that. and when i watched it subbed (=X) i was ooommpphhheeedd and replaying that scene over and over again. everything just came so together and the impact made jaws drop further in awe than they did when allen walker's crown clown was in full glory the first time round in episode 71 or 72.

in fact i was so reeled by the impact i forgot to watch bleach 164 =X

youtube loading is slow so i dun want to post the youtube clip of it. and some farker will get them removed with the remark "due to copyright infringements". so yeah when it comes to annoyances like that, up theirs. i dont want to see excuses like that in the argument of copyrights infringements kind of thing. i can see where they are coming from, and as a "wordly view" for a better future of media ownership, media production, media creativity, media viewership and media responsibility, i ought to pledge my loyalty in the fight against media copyrights infringement.

just because the law enforcers aint as clever to progress as fast as technology, they slap laws on things that are out of their control to reign superiority. *spits*

i think it is so sad

when u saw someone getting bullied, will you offer your hand to help the victim? have you ever been a target for bullies?

i was watching shigofumi and this episode is about a student who committed suicide due to excessive bullying. his classmate, whom he sought help from, thought that he was helping him by agreeing to the bullies' request which resulted in more bullying. the victim who felt betrayed killed himself and the victim of target shifted to the classmate whom the victim sought help from. the protagonist, being the deliverer of letters from the dead, delivered a letter from the dead victim to the classmate gloating that he is now going through the same ordeal that he did. however, the different thing is, in the end the classmate retaliated and hurt one of the bullies badly but landed himself into deep shit anyway.

of course the bullying might be exaggerated in the anime, but what made me feel dismayed was how the bullies felt nothing when their target committed suicide because of them, and nonchalantly went on to pick their next target. through this, i was thinking this could be how those terrorists felt when setting up bombs to cause death - the value of human life is 0, nothing. death of a human means nothing to them.

i'm not going to do the same thing by chiding such actions, it is already a given fact that such actions are condemned anyway.

i just want to say that i hate bullies. and have i been bullied before? i think maybe i have been bullied, but i didnt realise it because of my O-ness. hahahahhaa. so i guess in a way i feel that i have not been bullied.

the only thing i can think of is to stand up to bullies. cos the reason why bullies act the way they do is because they felt insecure. so the best thing is to bully them back. =D and they will back off. if there is a danger of doing so, please seek help from someone. someone, anyone that can help. never stay silent, cos the bullying will only get worse. it will not go away if the victim does nothing; silence will only encourage the bullies' action.

and onto shigofumi, i am excited to see how the protagonist's past is going to be revealed. how she became a deliverer of letters from the dead, when she isn't exactly all that dead.......

Colors of the heart

i like this opening for the anime blood+ very much. the coarse lines and darkness painted in bright hues are a great combination. in fact blood+ still rates as my top 5 favourite animes to watch, because the plot is tightly weaved and the feeling of anguish over mortality is tremendous.



and i am treated to a nice surprise at the actual full length music video by UVERworld cos watching the mad drumming and strumming that made up the fantastic track for real is just as thrilling. anyway, one of Bleach's openings D-technolife is by this band also.

dango, dango, dango, dango daikazoku


clannad is another one new anime that got me hooked and patiently waiting for each episode every week. it is seemingly innocent and dreamy but there is an agenda somewhere in the story waiting to be revealed. the male protagonist and his friend can say the darnest things in an infuriatingly businesslike manner. well, i like this kind of humour anyway.

For eg.:

with the end of season for claymore and zombie loan, i'm only left with bleach, d.gray-man and sayonara zetsubou sensei to look forward to every week. and since the latest subbed episode of sayonara zetsubou sensei is not catching up with the actual release, effectively i'm only left with bleach as the most updated, with subbers faithfully on standby mode to tackle the latest episode.

having foreseen this situation, the names of the animes that have caught my eye are:

1) zegapain
2) xxxholic
3) elfen lied
4) basilisk
5) nobuta o produce

basilisk is currently on scv chn 56, but it's not possible to be at home for the time it is being aired. plus, i dislike non-japanese voiceovers. most of them sound super awkward. so far the only anime that i watched with mandarin-dubbed and even sort of liked it is azumanga daioh.

or maybe i wont even start from the list. just going to let the anime hit me randomly. hee-ee~

bleach

super long the series and not yet end yet....started since 2004 but i guess fans dun get enough of the anime.


there are 11 ending songs and especially the song houki boshi featuring the different 13 divisions. i like the 10th and the 6th most of all. 11th is because yachiru is so cute and zaraki kenpachi is sibeh intimidating.
